A song by Nancy Shadlock... and Hafiz
Nancy, I love this so much! And this poet is also one I keep turning to ion these crazy times. You may know of this poem that I am using in my practice with seekers:
Just sit there right now
Don’t do a thing
Just rest
For your separation from God
Is the hardest work in this world
Let me bring you trays of food
And something that you like to drink
You can use my soft words
As a cushion for your head
-Hafiz
Thanks for sharing Joan! Yes Hafiz… such a good one!
Lately I’ve been contemplating, How can we be separated from God… if we are God?
Also… I’ve been loving this other Hafiz poem too.
God
and I have become
like two giant fat people living
in a tiny
boat.
We
keep bumping into
each other
